KEY PARTNERS AIDING IN THE ADVANCEMENT OF
THE THIRD FRONTIER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

STATE OF OHIO
The Ohio Department of Development’s Workforce and Talent Division (ODOD) administers the Third Frontier Internship Program for the State of Ohio.  Program implementation, marketing, payment of reimbursements, technical assistance are some of the major services provided by the ODOD.

BUSINESSES
Businesses offering eligible internships to eligible students are integral to the success of the Third Frontier Internship Program.  Students gain insightful, hands-on experience related to their field of study and businesses supporting paid work experiences to eligible students are partially compensated for wages paid during these internships.  The focus of this paid work experience internship is to enable businesses to train their future workforce and eventually hire interns at their respective firms as full-time employees after the student graduates.

STUDENTS
Eligible students benefit by gaining a paid work experience in their field of study and can leverage their internship performance with their college education to gain full-time employment by the Ohio business offering the internship.

SCHOOLS
Ohio’s two- and f
our-year colleges and universities assist the Third Frontier Internship Program by helping to recruit eligible students and businesses into the program.  These campuses are key sources of our recruitment efforts and are instrumental in helping students gain work experiences and businesses to attract students for internship employment.

REGIONAL THIRD FRONTIER INTERNSHIP PROVIDERS
There are currently 13 regional grantees or Third Frontier Internship Program organizations that are located throughout Ohio.   These grantees serve as regional technical assistance providers, program eligibility verifiers and reimbursement processors and may provide services to any student or business in any location in Ohio.    If a business is not connected with a specific regional Third Frontier Program organization, one will be matched with the business in order to provide these services. WEB SITE
The Third Frontier Internship Program Web site serves as the vehicle to enroll and match eligible students with eligible internships.  If you are a business or student interested in participating in the program click on your link of interest to enroll.
